OSL Adapters and Light Sources
We have a considerable range of OSL adapters for use with our instruments,
and one strong recommendation. The all-solidstate 1100 IR/Vis light
source is the best choice of general use, having the advantages of lowest
cost, zero maintenance, and complete electrical controllability.
That being said, there are special cases where one of the others might
be appropriate. The 860 Xe arc source has the capability of covering
the entire spectrum, so that any wavelength band may be selected with the
proper filters. The 2200 SLE laser scanning source is for arrays
of single grains. (It may be mounted on the 1100 as well, and we
will consider making a version available for the 1020.)
